Just sitting here - stuck in the house listening to the rain come down all around me. I forgot how much I enjoy listening to the rain.... finally a day off! See I did say in an earlier blog I would start taking some time off- at least here & there ! I am
struggling with my down time as if it becomes too relaxing - Imagine !!!! I have to keep myself focussed or doing something with friends or a project ! If I become too still - my mind starts thinking about my children and how much I miss them, today is one of those days where the tears flow but I know that is natural and Separation/Divorce Grief has to come out at some point and today is the day - so I write my thoughts at this keyboard .
Now that time has passed I deal with my children not being with me in a quicker mode - I guess that is a part of the healing process , I do crave to have them in my life more and hope this will change over time , if nothing else they will grow, mature and become their own persons and be able to make their own decisions and I hope they include me in their lives ! Enough on that- It was good therapy to write out my feelings and now I move forward as the rains splash around me !
I meant to do a follow up on grass cutting after I wrote about Homeowners being careful where garden items are placed and to alert your grass cutter for safety. I have a funny "Part Two" to add today - Back at the same site where I discovered the hidden garden treasures- small iron turtles , dragonflies and bugs ! They are cute , but were left in an area where the mowing equipment could have hit them and caused me pain or damaged the equipment! Now that it is safe to go back on site !( I relocated the critters !!!!) I went about my job with my normal routine shifted in high gear - mentally and physically ( which really means - WARP DRIVE )
As I started the whipper snipping around the deck posts , my eye caught the images of brown plastic - My mind told me - it must be pieces of debris - garbage which I would pick up before leaving the site , So I made a mental note where it was. However when I switched over to the push mower to get under the deck - My eye did not see the second piece of plastic and my push mower hit it - tore it up and dispersed it into several ZILLON pieces - A bit of garbage is never a big deal but today I learned pieces of brown plastic can be more deceiving than one can imagine; read on....
I have no pets and in particular - No dogs ! So now I know what doggie do- do bags are !!!! Yah ! Mowers and bags of dog poop are to be avoided when possible ! The smell alone in the heat was a non treat but if nothing else it sure made me smile and laugh ! Cause the last time I could have been the victim of iron creatures attaching me and this time it was a bag of poop! what have I done to deserve this !!!!!!! Oh the joys of being a Gardener ........... The moral of my tale is to remind people whether they are the home owners or if they are renting out the property while on vacation ....... Thank you for scooping up the dog poop but please toss it into the green bins we all have on our properties on PEI and do not toss the brown bags into the grass and forget about them ....... Your lawn boy or Lawn man would really rather not discover them the HARD WAY ! Ha ! Those are my thoughts on this rainy day and just to let you all know- the actual home owner of this particular site is a Sweetie and my designer of my web page and thank goodness I have a great - Dry sense of Humour as does she ! I just have to educate her and her summer guests the Island ways !!!!......... Next time I will write something on photography, Hummmm I am thinking about that topic now .........
